The final Stretch

I am in the final stretch of things and alot has happened since my last post. I will try and fill you in. One of our cats had to be put to sleep as she had a bad infection. We shall miss her very much.

Ev and I have just celebrated six months of being married last Sat. Its amazing how time flies. There is still a period of adjustment for me. I still miss having access to public transit and being able to get around a bit easier and I do miss my family and friends as well. Its been a long time since I have seen my family and friends. I do have friends in the states, just not in the state that I live in currently.

On May 2nd, we have to go to immigration for an interview. I have to gather up all the papers that we need to bring and have copies made of the important things. Alot of it is things that we already sent in before but we have to bring again. I will be glad when all this is behind us. Its a shame that they give Canadians a harder time about coming to the states and being in the states. I think that 9/11 changed alot of things and made things tougher.

I will be glad when the interview is over but I am sure that we will have to wait alot longer to have a decision after the interview. The wheels do move slowly.

Its a shame that alot of the people in the states cannot see how good the health care is in Canada compared to here because at least you don't have to go into debt to have access to health care, at least you have access to medical care in Canada which is harder to get in the U.S unless you have health care insurance which is very expensive and its harder to get if you have a pre existing condition. I wish that people would have access to info about Canada like Canadians do of the states . What I mean by this is that there is no news coverage here of anything that goes on in Canada so no one really has any ideas about their neighbors unless they have been to Canada before.

I know the economy is not great in the U.S at the moment but they should take a page from their neighbors and see what they have been able to do with health care and all. I am proud of the health system that Canada has and I really wish they'd be able to something similar in the states. It sure would make life alot easier in that respect.

As they say Rome wasn't built in a day but I sure wish that there wouldn't be such opposition to health care here. Its really a shame that it has to be this way but I guess there are different attitudes here about the whole health care issue. All I can do is hope and pray that eventually people will see the light on the issue. That would be wonderful:)
